Yuval Wolfson was born in Petah Tikva, Israel in 1966 and spent much of his childhood with his grandfather, award-winning poet Y. Z. Shargel, who introduced him to the art world. He earned a scholarship from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and attended the Avni Institute of Art and Design. After a year of studying painting, Wolfson left to study directly under his teacher, Naftali Golomb, before spending considerable time studying printmaking under Itzchak Tarkay. He established his own studio after moving with his family to Hollywood, Florida, where he continues to make both new paintings and prints regularly.
