Michael Wyshock is an American multimedia artist and professor whose work blends fractal theory, phenomenology, and abstraction into richly layered visual and sonic experiences. Known for his hand-painted “pixel” approach, he builds compositions that explore depth, vibration, and the perception of time, often extending his practice into video, installation, and collaborative projects with poets, musicians, and scientists. A longtime faculty member in the Fine Arts Department at Ringling College of Art and Design, he has received major recognitions including the Pollock-Krasner Award, the Ringling Tower Award, and multiple artist residencies. His work reflects an ongoing fascination with how systems—mathematical, sensory, or psychological—shape human experience.
