Sherab "Shey" Khandro is an American artist, philosopher, and peace practitioner known for blending Eastern and Western styles in her artwork, which includes paintings, sculptures, and jewelry. Born as Teresa Anne in the United States, she was ordained as a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition for fifteen years, during which time she studied with Tibetan masters and received her name. She applies her spiritual training and philosophy, which centers on mindfulness and intentionality, to her art, with the deepest wish to inspire compassion and universal love. Khandro's paintings often utilize the neo-impressionist technique of pointillism, where each tiny dot of color is infused with a prayer of compassion to end suffering in the world.
