Nobu Haihara (born 1959 in Kokura, Japan) is a Japanese-American artist celebrated for his diverse and evolving practice that spans landscape painting, portraiture, super-realism, graphic art and printmaking. After studying both classical and modern art in Japan, he moved to the United States in 1986, where he began selling his work on the Venice, California boardwalk and quickly transitioned into gallery exhibitions and commissioned pieces. Haihara mastered silk-screen printing in the early 1990s and led the atelier at Marco Fine Arts, producing prints for renowned artists while developing his own distinct style that blends influences from Ukiyo-e, Pop Art and hyper-realism. His works—ranging from bold, narrative silkscreens to dazzling, super-realistic depictions of glassware and iconic modern imagery—are held in notable private collections and have been exhibited in cities such as New York, Beverly Hills and Hiroshima.
