Mikhail Gubin was born in the Soviet Union in 1953, and studied at the Art and Technology College of Zagorsk, Moscow region, Russia. In 1989 he immigrated to the United States and settled in New York, where he set up a multimedia practice including sculpture, drawing, painting, collage, photography, and video. Mikhail has participated in 37 solo shows and over 200 group exhibitions in the United States and internationally, receiving multiple awards, accolades, and reviews. He was awarded a 2014 NYFA Fellowship and became a member of the Morean Arts Center, as well as a member of the Audubon Artists Inc., the National Collage Society, and the Sculptors Guild of New York.
