Marius Zabin (born 1956 in Warsaw, Poland) is a contemporary painter known for atmospheric figurative and landscape works that emphasize light, mood, and detailed observation. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, specializing in art conservation, before emigrating to France in the early 1980s amid political tensions in Poland. While working as a restorer of paintings—an experience that deepened his technical knowledge of classical methods—Zabin continued to develop his own artistic practice. His paintings, typically executed in oil, highlight spontaneity, freshness, and subtle environmental elements such as water, light, and surrounding landscapes. Since the late 1970s he has exhibited internationally in Europe, Japan, and the United States, building a reputation for works that blend classical sensibilities with contemporary painterly expression.
