Jeff Wallin (born 1973) is a contemporary American artist known for his innovative work in kiln-formed glass, blending painterly expression with sculptural technique. After earning a B.A. in Studio Art from Whitman College in 1995, he developed his glass practice at FireArt Glass in Portland, Oregon, where he began working directly from live models. His pieces are characterized by the intuitive layering of glass frit and minimal preliminary sketching, resulting in work that recalls the spontaneity of charcoal drawings while embracing the physical demands of glasswork. In 2007, he received the Sybren Valkema Prize, and his work has been widely exhibited in venues across the United States and internationally, including at the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft in Denmark. Wallin's art is often praised for its tension between immediacy and control, and for its evocative depictions of the human form captured in rich, translucent textures.
