This is an oil on board beach scene, possibly from California. It is signed "[hard to read ] Beach, M. C. W. '23 " in the lower right. "M C W" might be M C Wiles, a California artist who lived in San Francisco in 1885, but it also might be a beach scene from Wales, because the beach names ends in "narth" or "porth". 8 1/8 x
11 3/4 in. wide.
