George Molnar is an American painter based in Arizona, best known for his photorealistic works depicting Native American and cowboy life in the American Southwest. He refined his drawing skills through a correspondence art course in high school and later studied briefly at a California art department, but he developed much of his distinctive style through self‑driven study and mentorship from established Western artists. Molnar’s paintings stand out for their meticulous realism and deep respect for his subjects: the light on a skirt, the sparkle of silver or turquoise jewelry, the textures of rock and earth — all rendered with striking clarity, yet suffused with a quiet dignity and sense of spirit. He often places his subjects — Navajo, Hopi, or other Southwestern individuals — against dramatic natural backdrops, using composition and lighting to give them a presence that feels timeless. Over decades, his art has earned awards, been exhibited widely, and attracted collectors who appreciate both its technical mastery and its heartfelt portrayal of Western and Native American communities.
