Eugene E. Loving (1907-1971) was an American artist from Texas who became closely associated with the French Quarter of New Orleans. Drawn to the city during the Great Depression, he immersed himself in its bohemian atmosphere and focused his work on its historic streets, courtyards, and architecture. Loving specialized in producing limited-edition etchings and serigraphs that emphasized the character of the built environment. A member of the New Orleans Arts and Crafts Club, his prints are still valued for their craftsmanship and evocative portrayal of Old New Orleans.
