Bob Bennett (1928-2003) was an American sculptor best known for his sleek, polished-bronze works, often abstract or stylized human forms, produced in collaboration with his identical twin brother, Tom Bennett, under the banner Bennett Sculpture. Born in Roseville, California, Bob began his artistic career in the late 1960s, creating welded-wire figure sculptures in the back of a service station before he and Tom shifted to bronze casting in 1974 and built their own foundry. Over the ensuing decades, their highly polished, fluid bronze pieces—ranging from abstract forms to more figurative works—gained a wide following, leading to the establishment of multiple galleries across the United States and a global collector base. After Bob’s death in 2003, Tom continued their artistic legacy, and the styles and techniques developed by Bob remain influential within the world of mid- to late-20th-century American bronze sculpture.
