Barbara Levine is an American artist whose work spans abstract painting, tapestry weaving, and fiber arts, deeply influenced by the natural world and a commitment to close observation. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, she has also studied at the School of Visual Arts and apprenticed in tapestry weaving in New York City. Her diverse body of work includes oil, gouache, egg tempera, and mixed media, often blending abstraction with representational elements. Levine’s art has been exhibited in galleries across New England and is part of permanent collections at institutions like Brigham and Women’s Hospital and UMass Memorial Hospital. Beyond her studio practice, she has taught art in various settings, including elementary schools and workshops, and continues to create commissioned pieces for individuals and corporations.
