Antique Spanish Colonial Polychrome Painted Wood Statue. Antique carved and painted wooden  church statue in the Spanish Colonial style, likely of the Boy Jesus or the young Saint Pancras.

This wooden polychrome statue likely represents the Christ Child (Santo Niño) or Saint Pancras, both commonly depicted as youthful figures in Spanish colonial or folk Catholic art. The flowing robe, sash, and lace suggest devotional use, possibly with added adornments over time. The gold tassels are an unusual attribute but may symbolize priestly authority, blessings, or Marian devotion, similar to knotted cords in religious traditions. If it is Santo Niño, the tassels could be later additions, as such figures are often elaborately dressed. If Saint Pancras, the missing hand gesture may have originally held a palm branch, a symbol of martyrdom. This piece likely originates from a Spanish or Latin American religious art tradition.
