Alfred Gockel (born 1952 in Lüdinghausen, Germany) is a contemporary painter, printmaker, and sculptor known for his vibrant, rhythmic style that blends bold color fields with sweeping black lines, drawing on influences from expressionism, pop art, and artists such as Picasso, Kandinsky, Dalí, and Miró. Trained in design and graphic arts in Münster, he became a full-time artist in the early 1980s and co-founded the art publishing firm Avant Art, which helped distribute his paintings and limited-edition prints internationally. His work spans canvases, serigraphs, and large-scale public sculptures, including notable installations in Germany, and is recognized for its energetic, lyrical abstraction and broad commercial appeal.
