Sydenstricker Glass originated on Cape Cod in 1968, when Bill Sydenstricker developed a new craft inspired by research on early Egyptian art he’d done at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The stenciling and fusing process, somewhat similar to enameling to modern enameling, quickly gained in popularity, resulting in a second location opening in Lake Worth, Florida in 1994, the same year Bill passed away. Today their pieces can be found in private and public collections all over the world, including at the Toronto Museum of Art, the Tiffany Museum in Winter Park, Florida, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
