After studying art and traveling in Europe, he developed a style that blended attention to detail with pastoral sensibilities and soft, subtle colors. Due to his prolific output, Fox frequently used at least 16 different pseudonyms to provide paintings and illustrations for various magazines, publishers, and clients without saturating the market. His works covered a wide range of subjects, and he produced over 1,000 paintings in his lifetime.
