Kay Walton is an American artist based in Texas, known for her evocative oil paintings of the Texas Hill Country—particularly scenes of bluebonnets, winding roads, oak-studded vistas, sparkling streams, and rustic farmhouses. A native Texan, she has been painting professionally for over thirty to forty years, and her work is strongly influenced by her training under renowned teachers William Henry Earle and Carole Pyburn, whose lessons in color and light profoundly shaped her realistic yet luminous style. Her paintings regularly feature in exhibitions and auctions, and since 2019 her auction record reached approximately $5,100 for a bluebonnet landscape sold in 2024. Dedicated to sharing her craft, Walton has taught artistic theory and color-light techniques since the late 1980s through classes and workshops, and she continues to draw creative inspiration from the changing landscapes of Texas.
