World War II Southeast Asian Personalized Combat Knife.
Condition: Commensurate with age.
Size: 2 1/4 x 11 x 1 1/4 in.
The blade is likely German in origin, based on the size and shape of the swedge and choil, although the maker's mark is too obscured to read. The handle is wrapped with conditioned leather, and has a gilt copper pommel and guard with the same swirling pattern engraved that looks similar to pieces from Bali, Malaysia, Thailand, or Cambodia. This was likely a personalized weapon, as its shape combines features from several common knives and particularly resembles Bowie knives that were made in the field in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
Commensurate with age.
