William Gropper (1897-1977) American, Pen, Ink, and Pencil on Paper. Depicts a large woman with dollar signs on her dress parading a dog with swastika and the words "Christian-Front" on its side past a poor farmer with a pitchfork, lambasting Christofascism. Signature in print bottom left. Writing in blue ink upper left.

Sight Size: 13 x 10 in. 

William Gropper (1897–1977) was an American painter, muralist, and cartoonist known for his politically charged art, social realism, and criticism of capitalism. A Guggenheim Fellow and WPA muralist, he contributed to socialist publications, appeared before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1953, and later devoted much of his work to commemorating the Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
