This is an etching of Mount-Joy Blunt, the Earl of Newport, by Wenceslaus Hollar. Hollar was a graphic artist from Bohemia (later on the Czech Republic) who spent much of his life in England. He was known as Wenzel Hollar to German speakers and Vaclav Hollar to Czech speakers, and was noted for his engravings and etchings. His earliest works date from 1625 and 1626 and he was heavily influenced by Durer. Has a Certificate of Authenticity on the verso. The overall size is 11 1/4 x 9 1/2 in. wide and the sight size is 3 1/4 x
2 1/2 in. wide.
