Vintage World War II 1943 Australian Military Mark III Single Shot Flare Pistol.
The brass has the CSP logo and is marked "Sydney", withe the "D arrow K" mark, the starburst emblem and 43, which is the year this gun was made, the serial #16265 on the side, appears to have the Ordnance Department proof and inspection marks.
Used by the British and Commonwealth forces during the second World War. It is one of the most iconic models of signal pistols in history, fully marked with the "D arrow K" Australian military proof marks. Original wooden grips. The Mark III signal pistol was adopted in 1911 as an improved version of the earlier Mark II pistol, which was adopted in 1905. Has a brass flare gun with a tilt-down, break open loading mechanism and a single action lock work.
Condition: Opens. Cocks easily. No sign of prior firing or residue, original patina. Grips in good shape. Original iron lanyard ring is missing. We cannot guarantee the functionality of any firearms.
