Timothy Barr (Born 1957) is an American contemporary realist painter celebrated for his luminous landscapes and figurative works that draw inspiration from the traditions of the Barbizon School and American Luminism. Born in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, in 1957, he studied at the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. After spending more than a decade working as a mechanical engineer, Barr left engineering to pursue painting full-time, developing a distinctive style characterized by meticulous realism, layered glazing techniques, and a masterful treatment of light. His evocative depictions of rural landscapes, historic farmhouses, forests, and quiet domestic interiors have been exhibited widely across the United States and are represented in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections.
