Thomas McKnight (born 1941 in Lawrence, Kansas) is an American painter celebrated for his dreamlike, color-rich landscapes, interiors, and Mediterranean-inspired scenes. A graduate of Wesleyan University and Columbia University (art history), he worked at Time magazine before leaving in 1972 to pursue art full time—driven by a transformative stay in Mykonos, Greece. He became widely known in the 1980s for his limited-edition serigraphs, which captured idyllic environments and imaginative Arcadias. Notably, McKnight was commissioned to create the White House Christmas card images for President Bill Clinton from 1994 to 1996, and his Constitution print was chosen as the official image for the U.S. Constitution Bicentennial in 1988. His works are included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institution, among others, and he has exhibited extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan
