This is a watercolor and pencil piece that is signed "Aesop" under the matte on the lower right. (If you lift the matte, you'll see the signature.) We are not sure who the artist was or if the signature refers to one of Aesop's fables. It has a Paris label on the back of the backer board. There are waterstains on the left side of the image and a 1/4 inch paper loss in the lower right corner of the image that is covered by the matte. The overall size is 11 1/2 x 13 1/4 in. wide and the sight size is 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 in. wide.
