Scott Jacobs (b. 1958) is an American photorealist painter renowned for his meticulous depictions of motorcycles, particularly Harley-Davidsons, as well as classic cars, wine, and still life compositions. Born in Cranford, New Jersey, Jacobs began his career as an art gallery owner before transitioning to painting in the late 1980s. In 1993, he became the first officially licensed artist for Harley-Davidson, a milestone that propelled his work into the spotlight and led to additional licensing agreements with brands like Chevrolet, Ford, Mattel, and the estates of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley . Jacobs' hyper-realistic style is characterized by his ability to capture reflective surfaces such as chrome and glass with astonishing precision, making his paintings appear almost photographic . His artwork has been featured on the covers of the official Sturgis Motorcycle Rally magazine and is included in the permanent collections of institutions like the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles . Despite facing personal challenges, including a serious motorcycle accident in 2016, Jacobs continues to create and exhibit his art, solidifying his legacy in the world of fine art and motorcycle culture.
