 Paul Garin (1898-1963) French, Watercolor on Paper Landscape Illustration. Watercolor on paper illustration depicting a sunny square in Lorgues, France, framed by two prominent trees and featuring light-colored buildings and strolling figures under a pale blue sky. Titled lower left. dated 1961. Signed Garin lower left. With Atelier Garin seal lower right. Unframed.

Paul Garin, born in 1898 in Nice, France, was a painter renowned for his evocative depictions of Provençal landscapes, coastal scenes of the French Riviera, and intimate portraits and nudes. Initially earning a doctorate in law, he later pursued his passion for art, dedicating his life to painting. His works, characterized by their vibrant portrayal of southern France, are held in private collections and the Museum of Nice. After his death in 1963, his studio was dispersed in 1998 at the Hôtel Drouot in Paris.
