Patti Suzette was born in 1984 in Juneau, Alaska, and her family eventually moved to St. Petersburg, Florida when she was in her teens, where she was exposed to the rich arts scene and her Cuban roots. Originally focused on becoming an actuary with a double bachelors in Business Management and Finance from the University of South Florida, she pivoted to interior design by studying at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, finally finding her calling in painting and hyperrealistic visual art. Mostly self-taught, she developed a process she refers to as “Fire Art,” using alcohol inks and isopropyl alcohol to create a “reverse watercolor effect” by setting her murals and canvases on fire to set the ink and form intense colors. Today she still produces works in acrylics and oils, mostly focused on wildlife with pop art and urban grunge influences, but devotes much of her time to working as an art broker, representing other artists in the greater Tampa Bay area through her own gallery, Echelon Fine Art.
