Orlando Cord (born 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American painter whose career reflects a rich engagement with mid-20th-century modernism. Largely self-taught, Cord pursued specialized studies at the University of Colorado in 1946, studied under Hans Hofmann in 1949, and attended the Art Students League of New York in 1951. He further honed his craft through periodic study with Fairfield Porter from 1960 to 1963. Cord's work has been exhibited at institutions such as Long Island University, the Parrish Art Museum, and the Heckscher Museum in 1971, as well as the Tower Gallery in Southampton, NY, and Guild Hall in London in 1972. His paintings are part of public and private collections, including the Guild Hall Museum, Heckscher Museum, Museum of Modern Art in Paris, New Jersey State Museum, and Parrish Art Museum. Cord is associated with Naples, Florida, where he has lived and worked
