Nitz Corley (20th Century) American, Oil on Canvas. Signed lower right. Exhibition label on back includes title: "Moonbeam." Inscribed on back is a lengthy description of the painting, almost as a poem, in pencil. The image shows a person holding what appears to be a dreidel, in blue hues.

Nitz Corley was a modernist abstract figural artist living in Guerneville, California, an unincorporated area northwest of Santa Rosa. They contributed Cubist works to the Luther Burbank Rose Festival Art Exhibit, held in the Veterans Memorial Building of Santa Rosa, which was resumed in 1950 after being abandoned during the late 1920s. The event drew many artists from nearby Marin County, and was an opportunity for galleries and dealers in San Francisco to seek out new talent.
