Neil J. Farkas was born May 16th, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, and became interested in photography while in high school, having his first solo exhibition at the Scarab Club in 1971. He eventually moved to Florida, where he gained a following for his seriolithographs and photomosaic works of cultural icons such as the Mona Lisa, Marilyn Monroe, and James Dean. His signature style builds large images out of tiny, photographically based tiles, creating a layered pop-art effect. Since finding representation through Park West Galleries his works have been found in public, corporate, and private collections all over the world.
