Nandor Horthy (born circa 1927) is a Hungarian-Canadian artist renowned for his tranquil, realist still lifes and landscapes. Born and educated in Hungary, he immigrated to Canada in 1957 following the Hungarian Revolution. Initially pursuing a career in music, Horthy eventually transitioned to full-time painting, dedicating over fifty years to his art. His works are characterized by meticulous compositions and a serene color palette, often depicting everyday objects and natural scenes. Horthy has exhibited extensively in Canada, the United States, and Europe, earning numerous awards and serving as president of the Hungarian Visual Artists of Canada for five years. He is also an elected signature member of the Canadian Society of Artists. At the age of 92, Horthy continues to be active in the art community, reflecting on a lifetime devoted to the pursuit of artistic expression.
