Monumental Laotian Silver Incense Burner c.1880. Important rare melon form repousse covered vessel likely for royal incense burning. Palace size, scarce. An exquisite Laotian Sterling silver incense burner circa 1880. Meticulously designed & crafted lidded vessel has 8 reticulated panels decorated with birds feasting on flower nectar. The lid contains three leaf-shaped panels surrounded by thematic reticulated birds & fauna finished with a finial in the shape of a flower bud. Diminutive mark, center bottom, possibly in Lao.
