Reverse painting is a technique in which an image is painted on the backside of a transparent surface, such as glass or acrylic, so that the final artwork is viewed from the opposite side. This method requires the artist to paint details first, layering colors in reverse order from traditional painting. It has been used in various cultures for centuries, notably in Chinese glass painting, European verre églomisé, and folk art traditions. Reverse painting is known for its vibrant colors and smooth, glossy finish, often giving the artwork a unique depth and luminosity.
