Milo Baughman (1923-2003) American, (2) 951-103 Thayer Coggin Lounge Chairs. Both bear the original tags on the undersides of the white leather seat cushions. Originally designed in 1966, the 951-103 lounge chair is Milo Baughman’s most recognizable chair design, created in the heyday of his fifty-year collaboration with Thayer Coggin Inc. The highly influential and iconic armchair has a slim steel frame and commonly solid-colored upholstery, using thick down-wrapped cushions set at an angle for the ideal resting position and the hidden supports to give the impression that one is “floating” on the chair.
