This is a beautiful landscape painting by Max Silbert. It is signed in the lower right corner and titled "Evening in Brittany" on the plaque at the bottom. He was born in Russia and became a French citizen later on in life, and is most known for figure and landscape paintings. He was a student of Jean-Léon Gérôme and Albert Maignan. His works were first exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1907 and he was awarded a silver medal in 1920. The overall size is 38 x 44 in. wide and the sight size is 26 1/2 x 33 in. wide.
