Born in Rupert, West Virginia, he studied at the American Academy of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago under influential teachers including Egon Weiner and Alexander Archipenko before moving into industrial and exhibit design, where he created award-winning pavilions for multiple World’s Fairs. In the 1970s he founded Olympus Graphics, producing large-scale prints for corporate and hotel interiors, and later returned to fine art, exhibiting widely across the U.S. and placing his work in hundreds of private, corporate and public collections, with a significant archive now held by West Virginia University; his art is known for its lyrical atmospheres and blending of realism with modernist abstraction.
