Marlene Lenker is an American contemporary painter and mixed-media artist born in Clifton, New Jersey. She earned an A.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MFA from Montclair State University. Lenker is known for layered, process-driven works in painting, watercolor, acrylic, and collage, often evoking landscape and environmental themes through abstracted forms and textured surfaces. Her practice emphasizes accumulation and transformation, building images through successive layers that suggest both natural systems and psychological depth. She has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions across the United States and has also been active in teaching and artist-in-residence programs.
