Manfredo Borsi was born February 15, 1900, in Florence, Italy. Manfredo Borsi was a painter, draughtsman, ceramicist, lithographer, monotype artist. Borsi became interested in painting in 1916 and participated in the Futurist movement while studying to be a goldsmith. In 1920, Borsi moved to Scandinavia where he lived for five years, working in interior design and studying ceramics. His work was exhibited in Copenhagen. In 1925, Manfredo settled in Paris and contributed works to several Salons. In 1948, he moved to Saint-Paul-de-Vence in southern France where he concentrated on ceramics as well as working as an enameller. Borsi's work contains references to Etruscan art. He wrote: "I advocate research into a new pictorial logic in which works tend towards the monumental, escaping from the painting and imposing themselves as an architecture of the world". Manfredo Borsi exhibited in several cities in Europe. The artist passed away in 1967.
