Luciano Cazzola (Born 1940) Italian, Porcellane Principe Porcelain Statue. Depicts a pregnant woman getting a check-up from a doctor in the Capodimonte style. Extremely delicate features like the stethoscope, hand-painted and marked throughout as well as signed by Cazzola. A plaque with the company name is affixed to the wood base and a certificate of origin is attached to the leg of the doctor.

Luciano Cazzola was born near Venice, Italy in 1940 and orphaned at the age of ten, sent to a religious school for the next six years before leaving to apprentice under two sculptor brothers, Volta and Alessandro Maggioni. His talents blossomed once he chose to focus on Capodimonte style porcelain, with his highly detailed figurines appearing in local art galleries by the time he was in his early twenties. In 1975 Cazzola founded his own studio with painter Sergio Traforetti, and when they added an additional designer named Lino Gobbi to their team in 1980 they named the company Porcellane Principe, which soon became internationally famous. To this day all three of them are still making new pieces together at their shop in Venice, with their older pieces now sought after as collectibles.
