Kees Andrea (1914–2006) was a multifaceted Dutch artist whose work encompassed painting, graphic arts, textiles, and mosaics. Born and based in The Hague, Andrea was a member of the Pulchri Studio and the Verve group, contributing significantly to the Dutch art scene in the mid-20th century. His artistic repertoire included oil paintings, watercolors, etchings, and textile designs, often characterized by a lyrical realism that depicted portraits, interiors, landscapes, and still lifes. Andrea's work gained international recognition when he participated in the painting event at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Artistry ran in his family; his wife, Matty Naezer, was an illustrator, and their son, Pat Andrea, also became a noted painter. Andrea's legacy endures through his diverse body of work and his influence on subsequent generations of artists .
