Joseph Stabilito (born 1955) is an American abstract painter renowned for his vibrant, large-scale canvases that blend elements of Abstract Illusionism with expressive color fields. A graduate of the Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, Stabilito launched his artistic career with a solo exhibition at the Sande Webster Gallery in Philadelphia in 1982. His early recognition was bolstered by a prominent display of his works in the windows of Bonwit Teller, a prestigious women's store. Over the years, his art has been featured in numerous public and private collections across the United States and Europe, including notable commissions for the Mandarin Oriental and The Palace Hotel in New York City. Stabilito's dynamic compositions often incorporate bold hues, layered textures, and geometric forms, reflecting a commitment to pushing the boundaries of contemporary abstraction. His works have been showcased in various galleries and are available through platforms like Artsy and his official website.
