Jeri Dyson Fellwock was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1938. She went to Cody High School, where she met and married her husband and went on to raise a family in Farmington Hills. In her early 40s, after her children had grown and left the house, she decided to take an adult art class at a local community center on a whim, and was quickly hooked. She continued to study at Oakland Community College and the Birmingham-Bloomfield Art Center, exploring watercolors, oils, and acrylic painting. Although at first she created traditional landscapes and portraits by the late 80s she was drawn to abstract work, which brought her a national following. Her work continues to feature in many regional art galleries and shows, and can be found in public and private collections in the United States and England, although her output lessened in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
