John Zaccheo (born 1942) is an American painter, illustrator, and former commercial art director best known for his luminous Impressionist-inspired landscapes, Mediterranean seascapes, and floral scenes. After studying at Dutchess Community College and the Art Students League of New York, he built a successful career in advertising and music publishing, designing album covers for artists including Elton John, Neil Young, and Gordon Lightfoot before dedicating himself to fine art. Working primarily in oil with a distinctive palette-knife technique, Zaccheo creates richly textured compositions inspired by his travels throughout Italy and the Mediterranean. His paintings and limited-edition serigraphs have been widely exhibited through major galleries and are recognized for their vibrant color, dramatic light, and romantic atmosphere, making him one of the most commercially successful contemporary American Impressionists.
