Jerry Heer (20th Century) American, (2) Lotton Studio Art Glass Perfume Bottles. Jerry Heer is one of the many artists who have honed their craft at Lotton Studios. Both have similar flowery forms in homage to Art Nouveau styles, one taller than the other. Both signed and dated 2003 on the undersides.

Charles G. Lotton was born in 1935 in a log cabin near Elizabethtown, Illinois, and grew up exploring the Ohio River and surrounding wilderness, developing an early fascination with light, refraction, and electrical systems that led him to serve in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. After returning, he worked various jobs before becoming a hairstylist, where he honed an eye for color and texture, and in 1960 married Mary, raising four children while cultivating creative interests. Inspired by a glassblowing demonstration at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1970, Lotton built a furnace and taught himself to blow glass, gaining his breakthrough when Tiffany expert Lillian Nassau purchased every piece he made for five years, allowing him to focus solely on glass. Expanding from paperweights and vases to intricate flower forms, pendant lighting, lamps, and chandeliers, he became known for swirling, iridescent patterns, developed unique techniques with raw materials, and involved his sons and grandson in Lotton Art Glass Gallery & Studios. His works, including the “Multi Flora” and “Cypriot” series, are held in institutions such as the Corning Museum of Glass and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, and he left a lasting legacy continued by his family until his death on September 17, 2021.
