Born into an artistic family in Illinois in 1963, Daniel Lotton is the second son of world-renowned glass artist Charles Lotton. He began his artistic journey at the age of 14 in his father’s studio, initially creating paperweights and pendants before eventually serving as a full-time apprentice. Heavily inspired by nature, Daniel developed signature floral patterns, including his Cynthia Flower and Pulled Fern designs, which he features across a wide range of vessels and custom lighting. Today he spends countless hours sketching new concepts and perfecting custom color formulas to keep his progressive art style evolving from his studio in Crete, Illinois, and is currently focused on creating unique, custom lighting fixtures for both private businesses and avid collectors. His one-of-a-kind art glass pieces can be found in fine galleries nationwide and are proudly owned by high-profile collectors, including Melissa Etheridge and Salma Hayek, as well as frequently collaborating with his sibling David and John at Lotton Art Glass.
