During this time, he bought a pub and ran a restaurant, often observing his customers and sketching their activities, from which he would create paintings. In 1980 he began teaching at the School of Visual Arts in Be’er-Sheva and later at the Kaye Art Academy. By the late 1980s he was a Professor of Art at Ben-Gurion University in Be’er-Sheva. His work was discovered in 1989 by Talking Walls, an art publishing group in Israel, and they sponsored exhibitions for him in Israel and in New York at the International Art Exposition, with yearly solo touring shows in the United States ever since.
