Shiva is one of the principal deities of Hinduism, known as “The Destroyer” or “The Transformer” within the Hindu trinity alongside Brahma the Creator and Vishnu the Preserver. Revered for his paradoxical nature, Shiva embodies both ascetic renunciation and cosmic power, often depicted with a third eye, a crescent moon on his matted hair, a serpent around his neck, and the sacred river Ganges flowing from his locks. He is commonly shown in meditation, as Nataraja performing the cosmic dance of creation and destruction, or as a family man with his consort Parvati and their children, Ganesha and Kartikeya. Worshiped across India and beyond, Shiva represents the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, the mastery over desire and ego, and the transformative power of spiritual awakening.
Patina throughout. Commensurate with age.
