Jones, Ball & Poor was a prominent Boston-based retail jewelry and silversmithing firm that operated from 1846 to 1852. Formed by partners George B. Jones, True M. Ball, and Nathaniel C. Poor, the company succeeded earlier iterations of a lineage that traced back to the early 19th Century. Located on Washington Street, the firm retailed exquisite coin silver presentation pieces, hollowware, and luxury goods to New England’s elite. Following shifts in its partnership, the business eventually evolved through subsequent names to become the renowned Boston institution Shreve, Crump & Low.
