Antique Emes & Barnard Sterling Silver Tea Kettle - Approx 31.730 ozt. The gourd-shaped body features a fluted, hand-chased floral and leaf design with two bone accents in the handle and an acorn-topped hinged lid. Supported on a four footed attached base. Monogram on one side, hallmarks on the other. Inscription on the underside reads "Mary Hoey Hall Edith Hall Washburn 1910."

Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard formed a prominent London silversmithing partnership that began operating in 1808. The collaboration was established following the death of John Emes, whose manufacturing silver firm had been managed by Barnard. Operating under the mark “Emes & Barnard,” the workshop specialized in producing large, ornate presentation pieces, elaborate dinner services, and elegant household silverware utilizing popular styles of the era. While functioning largely as a manufacturing firm, they also fulfilled orders for prominent retailers like Rundell, Bridge & Rundell. The successful partnership continued until Rebecca Emes withdrew in 1829, after which Barnard transitioned the business to trade with his sons.
