Raphael was a master of the Italian High Renaissance, renowned for his harmonious compositions, graceful figures, and refined techniques that embodied the ideals of classical beauty and balance. Trained under Perugino and later influenced by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, Raphael excelled in painting, architecture, and draftsmanship. His most celebrated works include the frescoes of the Vatican’s Stanze di Raffaello, particularly The School of Athens, which showcases his mastery of perspective and human anatomy. Raphael's art was admired for its clarity, serenity, and idealized realism, and his untimely death at 37 only enhanced his mythic status as one of the triumvirate of Renaissance genius alongside Michelangelo and Leonardo.
